Neighborhood Watch looks for Philly’s most fashionable. This week, they spot two hotties enjoying froyo in the Gayborhood.

While trying to beat the heat with a cup of froyo in Sweet Endings on 13th and Walnut, we zeroed in on Jenna (18), who was enjoying a mix of strawberry, watermelon and chocolate yogurt deliciousness. Her mix-matched Forever 21 outfit (skirt and oversized top) was a perfect mix of text and floral print, and accented with DSW sandals.
If you were too distracted by last weekend’s Fourth of July festivities to bargain-hunt, this weekend might be an even better chance to walk away with a cheap new wardrobe.
Hustle to the annual 13th Street Sidewalk Sale in Midtown Village as soon as possible! Knit Wit and its hip sister Plage Tahiti, both favorites of chic Philadelphia women, are hosting 50- and 60-percent-off sales, respectively. Down the shore this weekend? Michaela (18) was celebrating the Fourth outside of her rustic beach home in Avalon, New Jersey. This proud patriot was sporting a truly American outfit. Her blue and white striped dress was from Forever 21, her red bow and sandals were from American Apparel and her blue vintage earrings were from a local Philly thrift store.
This summer, Michaela is on the hunt for the perfect romper. When shopping she looks for the “three C's: comfy, cute and casual.” She also favors funky headbands and hair accessories.
Michaela told us that if her style were a summer getaway spot, it would be “a laidback and classy Grecian getaway with a Mediterranean panache.” She likes to pair boyfriend fit sweaters with tight fitting skirts, the perfect comfortable combo of transitional day to nightwear.
CP's Kelsey McGlynn embarks on a hood-specific summertime boutique crawl. This week, she points her browsers toward Northern Liberties.

The moment I entered Arcadia Boutique, there was a sense of cool that surrounded me. The colorful wall arrangements of accessories and the eclectic assortment of shoes were an instant give away that this store was in style. Alex, an employee, was extremely helpful in guiding me around the shop. She shared that a typical Arcadia customer “definitely comes in looking for something no one else has.” Special to Arcadia, 80 percent of their clothing is made locally and organically. Arcadia is home to a clientele of neighborhood regulars, Alex explained, giving the boutique a hidden-gem feel.
Once a year, we like to pretend that grilling hot dogs, watching fireworks and driving five hours in traffic is what it means to be truly American. But let’s be honest: there’s nothing more patriotic than consumerism.
That’s why this weekend we should all quit the act and take advantage of the sales that make this country so great — just tell yourself you’re stimulating the economy. Here’s a rundown of what's not-to-miss this weekend.

Another beautiful thing about my country—when we get sick of our stuff, we import. Omoi is adorable, chalk full of Japanese pop-culture clothing, accessories and wacky home goods like surfboard-shaped incense burners and shot glasses shaped almost too realistically like wild moose and rabbits. When I walked into Lost & Found, the colorful display of scarves and handbags immediately captured my gaze. I was greeted warmly by Jenny, an L&F employee, who explained, “We are a true boutique, we have everything you need.” And they did! The store is filled with a fabulous selection of user-friendly clothing and accessories at great prices.
This one-stop shop features an impressive array of both women’s and men’s clothing, accessories and jewelry. Lost & Found has a vintage-meets-modern style that exhibits colorful, trendy merchandise.

While window-shopping in The Gallery at Market East, we found Sharon (28) grabbing a last-minute iced coffee before catching a train. After talking to her about her ensemble, we learned that she pulls her influences from the likes of Jessica Alba and the Olsen twins.
Her outfit was from some of her favorite stores (printed shorts from Century 21, shirt from French Connection and necklace from Forever 21), but the key to her heart lies in her petite Marc Jacobs bag. We loved her Urban Outfitter’s shoes as well, but Sharon told us she wished she was "wearing different shoes, these are so old and worn!”

We caught Maria (19) on a South Street corner celebrating her birthday in a tube dress accented with a chunky turquoise necklace. She was sporting full Forever 21 attire, excluding her boots, which were Steven Madden.

We spotted Megan (23) meandering through Reading Terminal Market toting a fab Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, which, she proudly told us, was paid for by taking on extra hours at work. “I feel much classier when I have it on," she said. The California native is a gallery director at a jewelry store in Rehoboth Beach. She often shops for clothes at J-Crew and Anthropologie, which mirrors her fashion inspirations like Reese Witherspoon and Maggie Gyllenhaal. She assures us, however, that the West Coast is her greatest influence. This summer Megan is on the prowl for “flouncy, lacey tops, and a-symmetrical patterns.” If her current taste in fashion was a popsicle, she says she'd describe it as "mango-chocolate" because of her obsession for mustard yellow teamed with brown.

Philadelphians have a way of putting their own spin on style and with this week's heat wave, the term “less is more” is more fitting than ever. Case in point: Lauren, who we stopped on South Street after spotting her unique style from a block away. She told us she spends most of her time shopping in thrift stores and converting her winter clothes into cropped tops and shorts. She says she looks forward to “wearing less clothes and more bikini tops” this summer.
