Counting counts! First of all, we're like to say thank you to everybody who participated in the contest. For the first time ever, I believe, every single entry adhered to the proper syllabic restrictions of the haiku form. In that way, you are all winners. In another, more real way, only Ben and Jaime P. are winners, since we liked their poems best and are awarding them each a pair of tickets to see Yo La Tengo at the Troc on Thursday, Jan. 20.

Thanks for playing!

The rumors are true. We're giving away two pairs of tickets to go see Yo La Tengo with William Tyler at the Troc next Thursday, Jan. 20. How can you win? Write a haiku about or inspired by the band. We'll pick the winners on Friday sometime. And we count syllables, so do it right, poets!

Aw, remember Coach Ken??
Hi, Gleeks! Since you're probably down in the dumps about the lack of new Glee episodes lately, we're here to give you something to do till your favorite nerds are back to keep you company on Tuesday nights. We've got a seven-disc Glee: The Complete First Season set to give away — it includes all 22 eps, plus more than two hours of special features (full-length audition pieces, "Bite Their Style: Dress Like Your Favorite Gleek," etc.). Oh, and just for funsies, we've also got a Season One Glee: The Music CD to throw into the mix. To win, write a haiku in the comments about or inspired by Glee. To get you started we have written a couple very stupid ones (this is a challenge for you to put our poetry to shame): Glee: It's like taking the "It Gets Better" campaign and reversing it. Ms. Pillsbury, your voice is like chipmunks chewing on other chipmunks. Thigh-slimming track pants And a mean streak like Perez: That's how Sue sees it. We'll announce the winner tomorrow at 5! [UPDATE, 5:05 p.m., Dec. 22]: Congratulations to CritMass reader Alex, who not only made us laugh, but actually seems to know what a haiku is! Unlike most of the Internet! Congrats, Alex, and thanks to everyone who submitted. Remember, 5-7-5!

The deadline to win Usher/Trey Songz tour tickets has passed, and we have a winner. Congratulations to Kaila, who won with the following haiku:

Look for an email with ticket information soon. And thanks to everyone who played along.

Usher's been having a pretty good 2010. His latest album, Raymond v. Raymond, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and this past Sunday he took home two American Music Awards for Best Soul & R&B artist and album. So chances are when he rolls into Philly next month with Trey Songz for his OMG Tour, he'll put on quite a show — a show that one of you will see for free, because we have a pair of tickets to give away! If you're able to make it to the Wells Fargo Center on Wed., Dec. 16, and submit the best haiku about or inspired by Usher, the tickets are all yours. To give you plenty of time, we'll accept entries up until Monday at noon. At that point we'll put up a post about the winner and contact whomever that person is with their ticket information. So be sure to include the email address you access the most when you submit your haiku. Ok, go!

You'd look so hot in that
To promote his new late night show on TBS, Conan O'Brien sent me this lovely little number in the mail today. Gray's just not my color, though, so I thought I'd give it away. It's a size large and it's really soft. Who wants it? Be the first to comment with the word "fire crotch" and I'll email you for your address ASAP. Wait a minute ... what's that peeking out from the side? Oh, it's our latest issue. Find a copy in an orange bin on a street corner near you.

Artie, you can stand!
So I've had this Rocky Horror Glee Show CD sitting on my desk for a minute, and while I was thiiiisclose to opening it and unleashing the power of the New Directions on my gloomy Tuesday, I thought better of it and decided one of you people should have it, instead. After all, if I were to draw a Venn diagram of people who love Rocky Horror and people who love Glee, I bet that middle part would be pretty huge. To win this promotional CD — including favorites like "Damn It, Janet," "Whatever Happened to Saturday Night?" and "Time Warp," just answer the following trivia question:

In the pilot episode of Glee, Will and Terri put together a puzzle of what painting?

E-mail your answers to carolyn.huckabay@citypaper.net for a chance to win. Hopefully this'll tide you over till the Rocky Horror-fied Glee ep airs next Tuesday. [UPDATE, 1:45 p.m.]: Congratulations to CritMass reader Melissa, who was the first to reply that the painting in question is American Gothic. Thanks for playing!

Michael Heneghan's The Romantic screens on Friday
The 13th annual FirstGlance Film Festival kicks off tomorrow night at The Franklin Institute. As we mentioned before, this year's fest is offering up more screenings than ever before — everything from full length features, shorts and documentaries. And we have a pair of tickets to give away for each of the following showtimes (click on the links to see what's playing): To win tickets, all you have to do is be the first six to comment on this post, indicating which showtimes you prefer. It's first come, first serve, so be sure to indicate a second and third choice, too. From there I'll contact you with all the information you need to snatch your tickets at the events. Easy, breezy, beautiful: FirstGlance. Also, be sure to check our issue tomorrow for extra coverage and Critical Mass all week for film reviews.

I might have photoshopped this.
Wanna go see the live version of A&E's Paranormal State at the Keswick on Wednesday? Then you gotta write a haiku in the comments below! Make it about the show, or ghosts, or something kinda related. We'll pick our favorites tonight sometime. Please adhere to the 5-7-5 syllable structure, as these numbers have significance in the next realm. Case you don't know, Paranormal State is a TV show where Penn State alums go around talking to ghosts and hearing noises. The live version involves storytelling with the stars/creators, followed by a Q&A. I wrote about it in last week's paper. Wed., Oct. 13, 8 p.m., $24.50-$29.50, Keswick Theatre, 291 N. Keswick Ave., Glenside, 215-572-7650, keswicktheatre.com.
