Philly's favorite balls-to-the-wall drag comedy troupe will present their performances through a different medium starting this weekend. The Light Room Gallery (2024 Wallace St.) will host a photographic retrospective of the most memorable performances and antics of the Dumpsta' Players, starting June 3 and running through June 30.
The Players you know and love for their satirical and outrageous acts will be celebrated with the work of five Philadelphia photographers. Gregory Carafelli, Jason Colflesh, John Donges, Tom Sheeder Jr. and Al Wachlin Jr. will all exhibit photos displaying 15 years of the group's standout performances and backstage moments.
For extra credit, check out episodes of their shows on Comcast 66 and Verizon Fios 29/30 on Tue., June 5 at midnight and Fri. - Sat. June-8-9 at 11 p.m.

Race Street Pier opened to much fanfare last summer, but many have lamented the establishment's lack of visitor-enticing activity and programming. Beginning June 9, The Awesome Fest is giving Philadelphians plenty more awesome reasons to head to the waterfront park. As part of a goal to “create a premier year-round destination festival and film centric landscape,” founder Josh Goldbloom has arranged for free screenings beneath the bridge every Saturday night, courtesy of Delaware River Waterfront Corporation. Eric Bresler, new program director and editor of cinedelphia.com, curates the series of flicks fresh off the festival circuit. Promising events Bresler puts as “fun and classy,” viewers will be able to catch the films on a brand new 30-foot outdoor screen. Pay no mind to the sound of PATCO cars clanking above — it’s all part of the ambiance.
Here's a rundown of films:

NO ROOM FOR ROCKSTARS: THE VANS WARPED TOUR Chronicling the 2010 Warped Tour, this doc features everyone from the superstars to roadies to young fans. For those bored by the typical concert film, producers promise this to be a more worthwhile look into the state of youth and rock today. Sat., June 9.

Whoever said storytelling was for children will have a run for their money tomorrow (Sat., June 7, 7 p.m.) at Musehouse's (7924 Germantown Ave.) free Storytelling Spectacular. Hosted by local story-weaver Hillary Rea, this grownups-only story time features a roster of writers, poets and comedians like TEDx2011 speaker R. Eric Thomas, whose solo show Will You Accept This Friend Request premiered to a sold out audience at the 2011 First Person Festival, and Marjorie Fineberg Winther, who took the title of Best Storyteller in Philadelphia at this year's Grand Slam. If you are an aspiring storyteller or just nostalgic for some bedtime tales, the Storytelling Spectacular will renew your faith in the power of a good story.

WHO: Jay Yo and friends
WHAT: The weather is right, your mind is right and the vibe is oh-so-right. A fresh weekly pool party is jumping off on Mondays at the newly christened North Shore Beach Club (formerly Arrow) in Northern Liberties. Promoter and resident DJ Jay Yo will bring in a wide array of Philly’s local DJ talent to kick out the daytime jams. Expect all styles of music, drink specials and plenty of splish-splashy awesomeness.
WHEN & WHERE: Mon., June 4 , noon-7 p.m., free, North Shore Beach Club, 1031 Germantown Ave., northshorebeachclub.com.
WHY: Cuz you like it wet.
Devoted poet/avid concert-goer/nerd-grrrl extraordinaire Jane Cassady’s weekly horoscopes run in this space every Friday morning.
Gemini (May 19-June 21): Even more than usual, listen to a song lyric for messages. Shuffle, the radio, the dreamy music over the credits, they’ve got something important to tell you.
Cancer (June 22-July 23): To the Cancer who just got into an MFA program: CONGRATULATIONS! You are worth every writing minute. Fill your notebook with answers and forms and formulae. You’ll be even more yourself.
Leo (July 24-Aug. 23): To the Leo who’s moving when the lease is up: Your new place may or may not have a garden, its own washer-dryer, or a tall person’s shower, but I promise you this: quiet, a fresh start, more windows that open. You and your love and your cats will be happy and safe.
Virgo (Aug. 24-Sept. 23): You’ve been taking a break and now you’re frustrated, but I promise you — time to heal and read novels, to finish your homework, to take up half-assed yoga again, all the time you are taking for yourself will pay off in snuggly, sweaty, musky dividends sooner than you think.
