Weekend Omnibus
On Friday, I got word that there was this big biker party called Skate and Ride down at the FDR Skate Park, so I quick hopped on my bike and went down to get some photos.

Instead of taking regular crowd shots, I zeroed in on the hotties in the crowd at Saturday's Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival. Ouch!

Friday: Have a gay day! Political commentary emerges in the form of vegetable-themed diseases and out-of-this-world experiences in Thom Nickels' latest contribution to gay literature. Hear the author speak about Spore, a sci-fi novel, at the Lippincott House. Then catch a performance of Just Say Love, a Daniel Student production that details how two men fall in love.
Saturday: Search for inner peace at Awakening the Heart: Introduction to Buddhist Meditation. This introduction to the ancient calming practice takes place at the Amitayus Kadampa Buddhist Center. When you are nice and relaxed, celebrate hair of the past at the Vintage Hairstyle Workshop. So get out the bobby pins and prepare for some old fashioned curls.
Sunday: Check out Sculpting Nature, and let the Center for Emerging Visual Artists show you that plants are well... pretty. Then head for the cinema and watch director Edgar Wright have a blast in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (but read up on it first in our interview with Wright, Michael Cera, Anna Kendrick and Jason Schwartzman).

Friday: Calm your weary soul at Going Green, a collection of videos and photos from Taiwanese artists that aim to showcase their unique medium of environmental art. Check out the Westward Ho! exhibit at the Rosenbach Museum and Library and learn the real deal about cowboys and Indians, wives tales and fact.

Lauren Macaluso gave you a review of each doc earlier today.Continue post-event feelings of do-goodness with Fuck the Crude, Let's Party Dude at the FDR Skatepark. Don't worry the coarseness has a cause all proceeds to this party go the Gulf clean-up. Images of Philly in the Summer ain't your typical gallery. This image theater workshop lets you act out photos taken of Philadelphians in theater exercises.
Sunday: See the best 'strips the Philadelphia Alternative Comic Con has to offer at The Rotunda. Later, bring out the child in you to celebrate El DÃÂÂÂa del Niño at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. Better yet, bring your kid. We won't tell if you participate in the piñata.

Friday: PHillyImc reminds us that the days of parodying our oh-so-articulate former president are far from over. The organization, which campaigned against Bush in the 2000 election, hosts an anniversary party tonight at the Puppet Warehouse. Later, hit up Life During Wartime, a Vintage Muse party. But hike up your hemlines and pull out your fedoras this party is '30s/'40s-themed.
Saturday: Caught with a bad case of dance fever? Philadelphia Dance Day offers seven free dance workshops. Later, check out Shakespeare in Clark Park. The show? A Midsummer's Night Dream biker style. Then check out the Black Women's Art Festival complete with massages, comedians, motivational speakers and book swaps.
Sunday: Travel south for the DooWop Car Show and Street Festival before heading over to the 2nd Street Festival. Free food, beer and people selling stuff. Need we say more?
