Praise be to the gods of weekend! It's gonna be a nice one so why don't you... Friday: ...spend your entire night inside? Hit up the Secret Cinema presentation of rare NYC-filmed noir Guilty Bystanders and listen to Rutgers prof Richard Koszaski discuss his book Hollywood on the Hudson. If you prefer your hip-hop with a wink and nod, check out Rowan & Hastings who end their Philly run tonight at Welcome to the Terrordome IV: The One Where Rocky Beats the Russian. Saturday: Hit up the TrickGo Zine Yard Sale, where the mimeograph is king. Then it's off to the Piazza for some Swift Half/P.Y.T./etc. goodness at the Piazza Restaurant Week. Eat a lot because you have a big day tomorrow... Sunday: ...when you start you day at Zoe Strauss' Under I-95. It's her final exhibition under the highway, so don't miss it. Then it's off to the Class of 1923 Arena for the Philly Rollers Girl to see Mo Russ sing his heart out and, of course, some derby (the rollerskates kind, not the horses kind). Or head to the Piazza for some lady-lovin'/guy-on-guy action with SundayOUT! @ the Piazza.

Friday: Praise be to Our Lady of the Rhythm Section Janet Weiss, who joins ex-hub Sam Coomes and fellow-Jicks member Joanna Bolmes, will play Johnny Brenda's tonight with their band Quasi. Jan Jan's on the left; please take a gander at how jacked her arms are. Let's hear it for the ladies again when you go to the Sande Webster Gallery to check out the Women's Work exhibit. Saturday: Get those thumbs in shape as Strongbox hosts a Tecmo Super Bowl tournament, with pride and glory (and some other stuff) going to the victor. Then it's off to Flux Space to eat some of Tim Eads' hand churned butter. Art that is also delicious? Yes. Please. Speaking of delicious, Flavors of the Avenue takes over E. Passyunk. But save room... Sunday: ... because tonight is also the River & Glen Seafood dinner at Bar Ferdinand. But before that, you're not gonna want to miss the Circus Arts' School's first instructor showcase, Chrysalis.

CRITICAL MASS WEEKEND OMNIBUS: Kick-Ass weekend

Friday: Get down with somebody else's bad self with a double dose of dance: The venerable Philadanco's celebrates a whopping 40 years, while the Bad Boys of Dance (who Emily Currier reviewed earlier today) go heavy on the pop soundtrack and pull from a litany of dance styles. Or go freaky deek with Philly filmmaker Danny Perez and the boys from Animal Collective as they present their short film Oddsac at International House. Saturday: Legendary punks the Feelies bring their decidedly buttoned up look to World Cafe's stage (and hopefully play "The Boy with the Perpetual Nervousness"). On Record Store Day, no less. But if you eschew music nerdom for chiseled bods, check out Mr. Gay Philadelphia, who will choose the prettiest twink or burliest bear from the bunch. Too bad Chelsea Handler's busy. Mama Omnibus bets she'd love it. Sunday: Feed your head with a whole host of readings and book signings at this year's Free Library Fest. Then destroy whatever brain cells you have left with the sheer mind-raping beauty of Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass. Seriously, screw Clash of the Titans. Blockbuster season starts now.

Friday: True, dinner and movie is a cliche but you can't beat the price of nothing. For din din, you're on your own (what about Zavino?) but Mama Omnibus has got your movies covered: Check out the Philadelphia Film Society mini-fest (which kicks off today, and features Kim Ji-Woon's The Good, The Band and The Weird, pictured above), or head to the Piazza for a screening of Doors' doc When You're Strange. Saturday: Wish a happy one to Honest Tom, the travellin' taco maker, whose venture turns one-year-old. Or head to the Armory where bitches on wheels will battle is out in the Philly Roller Girls season opener. Sunday: Sunstainability month at Sa Va ends today so get yo-self to the boutique with some non-perishable food for donation and get 25 percent off. Then head to Nexus for multimedia artist Jebney Lewis, who doubles as the go-to technical director of such heavyweights Pig Iron Theatre Co. and Thaddeus Phillips but is finally taking the spotlight for himself.

It's Easter weekend, so break out the Sunday best early and head out-and-about. Friday: It's the Firstest of Fridays once more and C. Hucks gives you the scoop on all things arty. Her recs are spot-on, but Mama Omnibus would not miss Piranha Betty's Twin Peaks-themed art show The Black Dog Runs at Night for the world! They'll serve up all the TP fix-ins like pie and coffee served black as midnight on a moonless night. After that, head to the Piazza for PUFF's screening of Mind of the Demon: The Larry Linkogle Story, about the fucked-in-head freestyle motocross founder. Saturday: While the organizers of World Pillow Fight Day may have taken the fight out of today's event and replaced it with a stand in solidarity because of the recent flash mobs, that doesn't mean you can do you can't have your own pillow talk. Just keep it civil, Little Omnibussers. Next, choose between the very different sounds of the Bronx, who have transformed themselves into a mariachi band, and the sweet-stylings of Best Coast. Sunday: Happy Easter all y'all Jesus lovers. For the non-celebrating among you, why not revisit a classic Jewish tradition: a movie and Chinese food. Maybe try Japanese street food this time (octopus balls, ho!). Either way, it'll be beautiful outside, so brew yourself a PCLB Cucumber Crush and grab a book. We've got some suggestions for you.

Friday: Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Cry-Baby: You know John Waters' work. You love John Waters' work. But now get to know/love the man when he hits up Bryn Mawr College for his presentation of This Filthy World. (Do you think he'll hang with Serial Mom star Kathleen Turner while she's in town playing Molly Ivins? Fingers crossed!). Or go to a tribute for another great storyteller: monologist Spalding Gray. Stories Left To Tell, a tribute put together by Gray's wife, happens all weekend at the Painted Bride.

Saturday: Oyster House hosts a shucking contest tonight for pros and amateurs alike. So either go, or think of how many hilarious ways you can replace with 'fuck' with 'shuck.' Mama Omnibus prefers mothershucker, but get creative with it (maybe post some possibles in the comments below...). Then Gemini Wolf crashes Sugar Town, asking Philly artists to redefine their own songs. If you don't go for that, go for newcomer Attia Taylor, who joins GW

Sunday: Class it up on the cheap by hitting Tony's on Third for this fantasticalismo Trash and Treasures sale, where you can pick up Dior, Versace and some terrible romper-looking contraption (hey, Mama didn't say it was all treasures, did she?) so you can be the fanciest person Hive 76's Linux install class. Aw, screw it, you just wanna see Hot Tub Time Machine, don't you? Rob Corddry wants you to go too.

Hey, little Omnibussers, welcome the Weekend Omnibus over to Critical Mass by heeding the words of the omnipotent Mama Omnibus.

Friday: The husky-voiced goddess of the big screen Kathleen Turner visits for Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins. It's been a couple years since Body Heat, but if she still Turners (rimshot!) you on, check out Passional's class on exploring open relationships, so maybe your gal or guy can find a little room for Ms. Turner.

Saturday: Honestly, is there anything funnier than tiny bikes? How about people in business suits riding tiny bikes. Yeah, that's why you're going to the Brompton Folder bike race today in Fairmount park. Then continue the hilarity at Studio 34's gender-nondiscriminatory Beard and Moustache Competition.

Sunday: Mama Omnibus is always in favor making turning the Lord's Day into Boozeday, so hit up the Philadelphia Real Ale Invitational at Yards, where 25 breweries from near and far will offer up their brew just for you (and whoever else buys a ticket). Then it's off to Johnny Brenda's where the ever-revolving Fruit Bats take the stage.
