And I really wanna know: Where did YOU eat this weekend? Let me know what's good in the comments.

Takeout steak and bloomin' onion from the Outback in Springfield, Delco. Bloody delicious! Also, in Brooklyn: terrible fries from the 5 Spot on DeKalb Ave. and colossal Brooklyn Lagers, very very delicious American small plates at the General Greene (ham and gruyere bread pudding, omg, creamed spinach!) and the best chocolate chip pancakes served with smiles and shots of juice at the Pratt Coffee Shop. Good eating weekend.

bhiladelphia has the first spot correct. I could eat roti canai (the crepe-y thing with the curry dip — if anyone hasn't tried it yet, do it!) every day of my life. And b, how is Cheeburger Cheeburger? There is a branch in my hometown but I've never tried it. Who's shooting for the second one? Here's a clue: It's an Italian place. With a cheese plate.

some of my friends have decided it’s cool to throw birthday parties at chain restaurants in new jersey (probably in an effort to get me to stop being friends with them) ... anyhoo, i liked it. the staff is proud of their extensive milkshake list. the menu doesn't force one to choose between fries and rings. warning for burger lovers though your cow will most likely be served well done no matter what you ask for. (holly sh*t drew i think this is the longest/ most coherent review i've ever written)

Damn, bhiladelphia beat me to Banana Leaf. I, too, had roti canai this weekend, but at Penang (takeout). It was delicious (despite the occasional chicken bone). Their prawn mee, however ... not my fave. Too fishy. Also hit up the huevos-yum-burrito at Cantina dos Segundos, and had dessert for breakfast at Cafe Lift in the form of nutella-strawberry-topped pancakes. Totally against the rules and I totally don't care. As for your second resto: the new Melograno? I've never been there, but I would hope they'd have a cheese plate.

As for your second resto: the new Melograno? You're sooooo close. Both cuisine-wise and alphabetically.

What were you doing in Springfield? My father used to send my brother and I to hawk tables around the bar while the not so shameless waited up to three hours for a table in the dining room. Not much for chains and would say it's a guilty pleasure but don't feel so guilty after a few tall drafts and their NZ rack.

Jamon, My dad lives in Delco and we have been doing that same bar-table stalk as you and your bro since 1999. I couldn't ever fathom why so many people would wait patiently for their table, getting elbowed by servers and other hungry families every ten seconds. Now we always get takeout, and mangle our bloomin' onion at home in the privacy of home.
