Afternoon Snacks
Price breaks on pie, a Southwark-ReAnimator collab tonight, and nice thoughts on good food via Metro Bakery's new art exhibit.
Afternoon Snacks
A good deal on pie, a coffee-themed dinner tonight at Southwark, and word from the next exhibit at Metropolitan Bakery's gallery space, all on today's Afternoon Snacks!
Did you know that Wednesdays at Magpie (1622 South St.) are now "Winter Warmer Wednesdays"? And did you know that means that you can pick a savory pie, a sweet pie, and a coffee or tea for $14? It only makes sense for Magpie to capitalize on their greatest asset—which is not just "pie," surprisingly, even though their pie is really great. Nope, their greatest asset is the fact that you can go there and eat an entire meal that is fully legit but is also fully pie. And now you can do that for less money! Keep up the smart thinking, Magpie.
In last-minute dinner news, it looks like Southwark (701 S. 4th St.) still has a seat or two available for tonight's dinner with ReAnimator coffee. And we think coffee cavatelli and coffee agrodolce sound awfully good, don't you? Call them (215-238-1888) ASAP if you want to try to get in; dinner starts at 7 p.m. and goes for $45 per person, or $55 with beverage pairing.

The exhibit, called "Second State, Second Edition", shows off prints from Second State Press, "the premier print workshop in Philadelphia in the Crane Arts building." It kicks off this Saturday, Jan. 19 at noon.
