This past weekend, food writer (and Penn alum) Charlotte Drucker was in town to promote her book Skirt Steak at the Made with Moxie dinner at Barbuzzo. We also happen to be huge fans of her Pastry of the Week coverage on Bon Appetit’s blog. This week, she starts recounting the best sweets encountered on her multi-city book tour—because, as she tweeted today, “While on the road, I like to skip meals and live off of cookies.” We can fully get behind that. So far, she covers Seattle and Portland with some incredible entries that should inspire home bakers and confectioners, like Ramos Gin Fizz macarons and whiskey-caramelized, spiced, chocolate-covered hazelnuts.
