Drinks for election season, drinks for the actual season-season, and sweets for the holiday season: all on today's Afternoon Snacks!

Somehow, some way, McGillin’s (1310 Drury St.) has divined that there will be a heavy demand for booze tomorrow, whether it be related to jubilation or gnashing of teeth. While we all wait for those result to roll in, they’re offering up all three brews in Yards’ Ales of the Revolution series for just $3 apiece. Hey, you need to hold your breath and drink away your nerves somewhere—and if things don’t go your way, the historic presence of the 150+-year-old venue might help reassure you that the world will, in fact, go on.

In other drinking news you can use, Rex 1516 (1516 South St.) has a new slate of seasonal cocktails to share for fall and winter, courtesy of mixologist Heather Rodkey. The list features the signature flavors of cold-weather months, local AITA spirits, and an on-trend shrub. (Hey, did you see Adam Erace in Details, by any chance?) The lineup:

Chai Alexander
Salignac cognac, RumChata, chocolate bitters, crème de cacao, nutmeg
$11

Sage Advice
Art in the Age Sage liqueur, Carpano Antigua, ginger, cranberry, smacked sage
$12

The Harvest
Laird over proof apple brandy, granny smith & macintosh apple-coriander shrub, Bartram’s bitters, St. Germaine
$8

And to tackle a vice of another kind, Brown Betty (722 N. 2nd St.; also at Liberty Place) put out their holiday menu today, so you can start contemplating and getting in your pre-orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We’re thinking sweet potato pound cake with spiced vanilla frosting for Turkey Day, and classic red velvet for Christmas—but options abound, so if you prefer your sweet potato in pie form and a snowy coconut cake to usher in a white Christmas, go crazy!
