Afternoon Snacks

POSTED: Wednesday, December 12, 2012, 5:16 PM

Today's Afternoon Snacks has food donations made even easier, some stomach-turning snacky jargon, and tons of high-test beers tonight at Sidecar!

Food trucks always make feeding yourself more convenient; now they’re making it easier to feed others, too. The Philly Mobile Food Association has teamed up with Philabundance this year, turning a bunch of their member trucks into roaming collection sites for non-perishable food donations. You can drop yours off when you visit any participating truck, including:

Lil Dans, SPOT Burger, The Mini Trini, GiGi & Big R, Jimmies Cupcake Company, Chef Johnny Bravo's, Lucky Old Souls, Sweetbox Truck, Foo Truck, Zea May's Kitchen, and Cupcake Carnivale.

A haiku, upon reading Squid Ink:

A Pepsi exec
Said “drinkify” and I felt
furious. Enjoy!

Tonight is High Gravity Night at Sidecar Bar (2201 Christian St.). We tell you this, of course, lest you wander in there later today unawares and start downing pints without a second thought. The bulk of the beers on tap are around 9% ABV, with one clocking in at 11.5%. Check out the full taplist here, with highlights like Bell's Black Note and Founder's Backwoods Bastard.
