Afternoon Snacks

POSTED: Friday, December 14, 2012, 3:24 PM

Today on Afternoon Snacks, an Epic tasting and the platter we're planning on bringing to all of our holiday parties this year.

Looks like there are still tickets left for the Stone Vertical Epic tasting at City Tap House (3925 Walnut St.), scheduled for the day after armageddon Sat., Dec. 22. Tickets are $100 each and include tastings of nine (mostly-contiguous) Vertical Epic vintages, keepsake glassware, ten paired courses, and a few extra treats.

Stone Lukcy Basartd Ale (6 oz.)
Fresh scallop and shrimp ceviche, citrus and serrano chile broth

Stone 03.03.03 Vertical Epic Ale (5 oz.)
Beef taquitos, pickled onion, cilantro, fresh radish, lime crema

Stone 04.04.04 Vertical Epic Ale (5 oz.)
Wild mushroom duxelles, toast, shaved asparagus, salad, house vinaigrette

(Stone inspired flavored Gelato in place of Stone 05.05.05 Vertical Epic Ale)

Stone 06.06.06 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
Kumamoto oysters on the half shell, fresh tarragon mignonette

Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
Mediterranean lamb meatball, harissa aioli

Stone 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
Agrodolce onion & jalapeno pepper jack quesadilla, roasted salsa

Stone 09.09.09 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
Housemade pastrami burger, rye bread, swiss cheese, kraut, special dressing

Stone 10.10.10 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
Grilled marinated squid rings, pomegranate gastrique

Stone 11.11.11 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
White bean cassoulet & Bilbao chorizo shooters, crispy shallots

Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale (6 oz.)
Crostini, manchego cheese, quince paste, black pepper truffle honey

So, cookie platters are great. We love cookie platters. But do you know what we love even more? FISH PLATTERS. This one is from Spread Bagelry (262 S. 20th St.), and we think it's pretty much what every party needs.
