Afternoon Snacks

POSTED: Monday, December 17, 2012, 5:30 PM

A couple more Seven Fishes menus and the salty-sweet blondies we're craving right now thanks to BonApp, on today's Afternoon Snacks.

If it’s Monday, it must be a new tasting menu at Matyson (37 S. 19th St.). And this time around, it’s a chance to get in a little early Seven Fishes action. Although, as you may have guessed, this one doesn’t look like the most traditional we’ve seen. As always, it’s $45 per person, BYOB, available now through Thursday, and we’ve got the full menu below.

"Seven Fishes"

Shellfish
Fennel cream, blood orange, squid ink crumbs

Arctic Char
Pistachio, beets, escarole, yogurt, smoked roe

Black Cod
Brandade, black garlic, parsley, pickled chili

Rouget
Chorizo, white beans, saffron, pistou

Pear Tart Tartine
Thyme ice cream

Bon Appetit has been doing a cookie recipe-a-day thing for December like so many sites do, but today’s recipe is for blondies topped with caramel and pretzels and peanuts, so yeah, we took notice.

Finally, while we’ve now talked about a few Seven Fishes menus, so far they’ve all been in the city. Here’s one for our suburban readers: Trattoria Totaro (639 Spring Mill Ave., Conshohocken) has their menu up right here. It runs $55 a head and, though we haven’t officially counted, at first glance it seems to involve more like forty to four hundred fishes. Right?
