Afternoon Snacks

Sampling tonight at the brand-new Foodery, one of the cheapest options you're likely to find on NYE, and (speaking of which) looming deadlines and price increases on end-of-year bashes.

Afternoon Snacks

POSTED: Thursday, December 27, 2012, 4:47 PM

On today's Afternoon Snacks, we've got sampling at the newest Foodery, New Year's taco deals, and one last call to action for some NYE parties.

Lucky Roxborough: you just got your own Foodery (6148 Ridge Pk.)! The new outpost just opened its doors today, and to kick things off, a rep from Flying Fish will be dropping by tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. passing around samples to sip as you check out the new space and crazy bottle selection.

Just sayin': the next $1 taco day at Loco Pez (2401 E. Norris St.) is Mon., Dec. 31. Why is this news? 1. Dollar tacos are ALWAYS NEWS and 2. NYE is not exactly known for its steals. Fill up here if you blew all your money on some ridic expensive open bar package, or if you never had that kind of money in the first place. (Or if, like us, you just like to eat tacos all day, every day.)

But if you are going all out for NYE, we're getting to that point where if you don't have plans yet, you're going to be looking at higher prices and extremely limited options. Perch Pub (1345 Locust St.), for example, has 3 packages available (a $50 beer dinner, a $50 open bar package with snacks, or both!), but after midnight tonight the prices will go up, so it's time to stop hitting that snooze button.
