Afternoon Snacks

POSTED: Monday, December 31, 2012, 4:27 PM

On today's edition of Afternoon Snacks, New Year's EVe is finally here, and we have just a few more words to say on the subject.

First up: if you don't have plans for tonight, Percy St. BBQ (900 South St.) helpfully reminds us that while they don't have any special NYE packages planned, this one does happen to fall on all-you-can-eat rib night. Whether you're starting a diet tomorrow or not, ringing in 2013 with literally all the pork you care to down for $23 (including biscuits and sides) sounds like a pretty smart idea.

But if you took our advice to book your night at Brauhaus Schmitz (or if you're still looking to be convinced—looks like they've still got spots available), you can whet your appetite with this menu for tonight's buffet. (They had us at pretzel wrapped wieners, but we're easy like that.)

While New Year's Day brunch options abound, we feel like waffles at Chhaya Café (1823 E. Passyunk Ave.) sound ideal. Luckily, they'll have brunch on all day (8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and are even throwing in a little complimentary hair of the dog, in the form of a free glass of bubbly with every brunch entree.
