V-Day gifts from the kitchen, a cocktail crawl through Old City, and a new happy hour for Amblerites, all on today's Afternoon Snacks!

Looking for some last-minute Valentine's Day gifts of the handmade kind? Food52 rounded up nine of their favorites, including the super-simple chewy chocolate meringues seen above, homemade Tootsie Rolls, and Thai peanut butter cups that sound outrageously good. Solid scientific fact: homemade sweets make people feel 1000x more loved than store-bought ones.

Of course, if you're mostly just looking to make some terrible choices this V-Day, alcohol remains the most tried-and-true method. To help you get started, Drew Lazor's got some cocktail suggestions all over Old City at Serious Eats.

And in breaking happy hour news, Ambler residents will probably be happy to hear that Forest and Main (61 N. Main St., Ambler) is finally starting one. Starting today, you'll get $1 off every draft between 4 and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
