Afternoon Snacks
New brunch in Chestnut Hill, SquareBurger news, and the unveiling of Elixr's awesome new mural (with free stuff!), all on today's Afternoon Snacks
Need a new brunch-and-beer option? Iron Hill Brewery Chestnut Hill (8400 Germantown Ave.) has answered the call. The menu changes week-to-week, aside from their dependable eggs benedict and their brewer's hash-and-eggs, which is a sausage-heavy affair (hey, that's our favorite kind of affair). But we hear tell that they recently had a fried chicken and egg sandwich with buffalo-bleu cheese hollandaise, so we're thinking we might be haunting the place until that one comes back around. Brunch is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday; if you find yourself with an anti-brunch grump, their full menu will be available so you can just pass it off as lunch.
NB: While Franklin Square is officially open for the season as of today, don't rush over with visions of cheeseburgers and cake shakes dancing in your head. You'll have to wait until the end of the month for SquareBurger.
Elixr Coffee (207 S. Sydenham St.) is unveiling their new mural by NoseGo on Saturday, and Streets Dept. has a great sneak peek right here. Zagat blog reports that the installation party will feature treats from FedNuts and Yards Brewing.
