Afternoon Snacks

POSTED: Monday, July 16, 2012, 3:01 PM

Bassett's, among America's best ice cream places, will be hosting The Ultimate Philadelphia Ice Cream Experience this Saturday July 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Reading Terminal Market. I recommend skipping the other delicious RTM stands because Bassett's isn't the only one coming to the party. Pay as you go for Philly's sweetest frozen summer treats from the host, Miller's Twist, Franklin Fountain, Uncle Dave's Homemade Ice Cream and Rosati Ice. Your kids will love the arts and crafts, live music and games just about as much as they love ice cream. Stop by Center Court to get your fill!

Fish (1234 Locust St.) kicked off their brunch menu yesterday, offered every Sunday from here on out. Everything is house-made and you can enjoy your morning al fresco from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in their courtyard. Check out the menu:

East Coast Oyster $3

West Coast Oyster $4

Top Neck Clam $1

Carrot Pancakes $8

Cream cheese butter, candied walnuts

Smoked White Fish Hash $8

Huevos Rancheros $8

Steak & Eggs $12

Wine pairing dinners are old news, it's beer in the spotlight next week. Barclay Prime and Dogfish Head Brewery are teaming up to bring you a Special Beer Dinner on Wednesday July 25th. For $135, you can enjoy a 6-course dinner and experience the art of beer pairing for each course.
