Today's Afternoon Snacks plate is serving up tequila, volunteer stops for The Vendys, and new Thai-Chinese noodles.

Are you a street food aficionado? The Vendy Awards are coming up on Saturday July 28th, and they need your help! Volunteers are promised free food from the city's foremost food trucks, who will be competing for the title “Best Food Truck in Philadelphia.” If you have time (let's face it, you were gonna buy that $55 ticket anyways), message Diana Minkus via twitter.
It's National Tequila Day, and El Vez (121 S. 13th St.) is celebrating with a new drink item: silver tequila and fresh limeade, sweetened with agave nectar and shaken with mint and sage. This summery beverage is available NA-style for $4, but it's tequila day so you should probably go for the $9 cocktail.
Hand-drawn noodles are normally found in Chinatown, but the Asian Fusion Garden (243 S. 10th St.) has taken them to Washington Square West. This new restaurant, open for a couple weeks now, is serving both Chinese and Thai cuisine. Before you shake your head about the word fusion, it's worth noting that the Chinese food offerings are tempting enough: they've got hand-drawn noodles, homemade dumplings and xiao long bao. Thai choices include cold noodles, satay and curries. Give it shot!
