We've got Julia Child dinners, your daily dose of food trucks, ice cream coloring books and beer-lymics all today on Afternoon Snacks.

The new Le Bec-Fin (1523 Walnut St.) is participating in the week-long ode to Julia Child from August 7th to 14th, also known as Julia Child Restaurant Week. Julia Child single-handedly brought French cuisine to the average American. Chef Walter Abrams has plucked a few of her well-known recipes and styled them into a menu that will be served downstairs at Chez Georges. Here's the lovely line up:

French onion soup

Ratatouille

Lobster Americaine

Bouillabaisse

Short Ribs

Crêpes Suzette

Chocolate Rum Almond Cake

Crème Brûlée

On August 15th, Julia Child's birthday, Le Bec-Fin is offering a 3-course $60 prix fixe to celebrate. For wine pairing tack on $25. At 6:30 p.m., guests begin the night will canapés and flambéed Crêpes Suzette, and end it with a birthday cake. Call 215-567-1000 to reserve a spot during the week.

Another benefit coming your way with the food truck pop up at Lutheran Settlement House (1390 Frankford Ave.) on Friday August 3rd. The event is pay-as-you-go but a donation is requested to support the Lutheran Settlement House in their social service endeavors, with programs in adult education and employment, domestic violence, senior services and homeless services. Trucks in attendance include: Gigi & Big R's (Caribbean/American soul food), the Tamale Cart, the Foo Truck (Chinese) and the Cupcake Carnivale. Stop by between 6 and 11 p.m. to get your street food fix and help out the Philadelphia community.

Can't get enough of Little Baby's Ice Cream (2311 Frankford Ave.)? Let your soul be satisfied with the new Funny Business Coloring and Activity Book for Very Discerning Weirdos. That's right, folks... a coloring book! The creators of the ice cream tricycle have gone a completely different direction with their latest product... Not mad. Get your hands on one of the 250 copies of this baby at the opening of their shop this Friday at 5 p.m.

Ms. Goody Cupcake (1838 E. Passyunk Ave.) is going into the second month of their Summer Cupcake Happy Hour Series. Every Friday, relax and unwind after work with cocktail-inspired cupcakes from 5 to 8 p.m. in their south Philly shop. This Friday features a Mojito cupcake, along with all the other standard flavors, for just $2.

Now you can cheer for USA whilst enjoying German beers and snacks at Steven Starr's popular beer garden Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Ave.) They are joining in the Olympic festivities with the Sunday through Thursday Olympics Party. While the Games are on the big screen, half liter drafts are $4, liter drafts are $8 and sausages are $5.
