Afternoon Snacks

Today on Afternoon Snacks, we've got a seafood prix fixe and a crazy local tap takeover.

This evening starting at 4 p.m., Barcade (1114 Frankford Ave) is hosting Prism Brewing Company (810 Dickerson Rd, North Wales) for brewing night. Philly has got a lot of good beer, but these local brews are really mixing things up with chives and cardamom, and wasabi. We say it looks worthy of a beerventure into Fishtown. Here's the draft line up:

Prism Bitto Honey – 6.5% India Pale Ale brewed with fresh honey

Prism ChemoSabe – 8.5% Weizen Bock brewed with wasabi

Prism Felony – 10.0% Double India Pale Ale brewed with 10 different hops

Prism Love is Evol – 5.5% Brown Ale brewed with strawberries (love) and jalapeños (evil)

Prism Par Tea Pale – 5.5% American Pale Ale brewed with tea leaves

Prism Shady Blonde – 4.5% Blond Ale brewed with blood oranges

Prism Summer of '69 – 5.1% Pilsner brewed with fresh pineapple juice

Prism White Lighning – 4.2% Belgian Wit brewed with chives and cardamom

Mica (8609 Germantown Ave) is offering a Frutti de Mare prix fixe tasting tonight and tomorrow night only. Four courses for $45, and all seafood? Yes, please. Call 267-335-3912 to make a reservation.

First Course

Warm scallop carpaccio with lemon verbena, Cerignola olive and cherry tomato

Second Course

Spanish octopus with charred eggplant, pineapple and amaranth

Third Course

Grilled prawns with green papaya, peanuts and snap peas

Fourth Course

Caramel beignets with chocolate sauce
