Afternoon Snacks

Today on Afternoon Snacks, we've got a Brew-B-Q, a new beerfest, and tasting menus at Ela.

Ever wanted to learn how to brew your own beer? This Sunday you can make it happen in a casual, beer and BBQ manner at Barcade (1114 Frankford Ave). Starting at 12 p.m., Barry's Homebrew and some other local brewers will be on hand to answer all and any questions about home brewing. The best part is that you will be able to grub on BBQ and craft beers during the lesson.

Attention suburb-dwellers, the first annual King of Prussia Beerfest Royale is coming up in October, and tickets are $5 off today only. This new brewfest features a tempting list of local and German brews that will be pouring on October 5th (5:30 – 9 p.m.) and 6th (12:30 – 4 p.m., 5 – 8:30 p.m.) in the King of Prussia Mall parking lot (690 W. DeKalb Pike). Here's the brewery line up:

Local

Boxcar Brewing Co.

Dock Street

Dogfish Head

Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Lancaster Brewing Co.

Rock Bottom Brewery

Sly Fox

Tröegs Independent Craft Brewery

Victory Brewing Company

Weyerbacher

Yards Brewing Company

German

Augustiner Bräu München

Beck's

Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei

Franziskaner Weissbier

Hacker-Pschorr

Paulaner Munich Bier

Spaten Munich

St. Paul Girl

Tucher

Warsteiner

There will also be plenty of food and live music to complete the party. General admission is $45, but special ticket packages range from $15 to $85. Get them here.

We're getting very excited about Chef Jason Cichonski's new tasting menus at Best of Philly winner Ela (627 S. 3rd St.). Diners' taste will be taken into consideration to create a special personalized menu that will be at the mercy of the chef's whims and the kitchen's ingredients. All menus will be 5 courses for $55 to experience one of Philly's best chefs at work. Call 267-687-8512 for information to reserve.
