In late April, we shared that American Sardine Bar (18th/Federal), from the team behind South Philly Tap Room and Brew, would go through a zoning hearing today to gain the go-ahead for commercial and kitchen operations on the space's second floor. (It used to be the infamous Wander Inn.) Just heard from ASB owner John Longacre that said approval has been acquired — all red-tape hurdles are cleared. Longacre says he expects to open the Sardine Bar right after Philly Beer Week (June 3-12). For background on the concept, check out our September 2010 post.
