Truck Talk: Birds of Paradise Mobile

POSTED: Thursday, September 27, 2012, 2:56 PM

No one is going to argue that there's a shortage of food trucks in this city. We've got everything from soul food to fruit salad, Korean cheesesteaks and everything in between.

But there's a newcomer to the Philly food truck scene that's worth a mention, Birds of Paradise Mobile, "a CHRIST-honoring, non-traditional, grassroots food truck serving refreshment and
nourishment to help people feel alive and
keep people alive. We are intentional about eliminating the effect disease has on our world."

Okay, so that's intriguing enough on its own but the real question here is what does this non-traditional nourishment come from?

Luckily (or blessedly) the Birds of Paradise site includes a menu that encompasses several experiences:

The Saute Experience

Grain Feature:  Bulghur Wheat with Choice of Toppings and Sauces

The Grill Experience

Hawaiian Lua Stix

The Stew Experience

Philly LOVE Chili
The Chill Expereince

Woodstock Caesar

In addition to your experience:

Mama Mia’s Anti-cancer Slaw & Middle Eastern Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Refreshment: Lemon-“Aid”

A Sprout’s Experience:  Seussical Green Salad

Are you having a hard time wrapping your mind around these menu items? No need to worry, these menu descriptors will sort them right out for you: "Wholesome ,Colorful,  Balanced, Diversified, Global, Fun and Tasty Babasty (basted with tastiness), FlavorFULL,  Grain-centric, Green-centric, Radical, Wellth-Wellthy-Wellthiness, Heal-thy Self (Food as Medicine), Fearless Food, All-Inclusive."

If you're into all things basted with tastiness and heal-thy please follow Birds on Paradise on Twitter for inspirational Whitney Houston quotes  and generally great life advice
