Blackfish's Chip Roman to Play Mrs. Patmore at Downton Dinner

POSTED: Thursday, February 7, 2013, 11:35 AM

Kidney souffle, veal-and-egg pie, salmon mousse, Charlotte russe, 40 Baked Alaskas... Just a few of the aristocratic delectables served up so far in the two-and-a-half seasons Downton Abbey. Dinner was a big deal for landed nobles like the Crawleys in early 20th-century England, a vibe Chip Roman will try to recreate Sunday, February 24th, during a seven-course feast at his Conshy BYOB, Blackfish (119 Fayette St., Conshohocken). On the menu: oysters with roe and Champagne vinaigrette, roasted quails, floating islands and much more. Reservations are a must for the $100-a-head dinner. Those who just lost their fortune in bankrupt railways need not apply.
