Barbecue without borders at Blue Belly BBQ debuts tomorrow
Gene Guiffi's long anticipated Blue Belly BBQ (600 Catherine St.) is swinging open its doors tomorrow and the barbecue without borders menu is looking, well, let's just say that we know where lunch is going to happen tomorrow. Guiffi's no-rules barbecue philosophy frees up lots of room for the Cochon chef to explore all sorts of regional open fire cooking.
The sandwich lineup is looking stellar, think pulled pork with pickled fennel, pork rind and mustard dip and Korean beef with kimchi, crispy shallot and pear ginger vinaigrette. And if you happen to have a vegetarian in tow, there's a falafel on board as well.
Pork shoulder, short ribs, chicken, pork belly, and house-made sausages come with a generous choice of three sides including an out of control mac and cheese, fingerling potato salad, and bacon onion corn cakes.

Pulled jerk chicken: pickled okra, red onion, citrus aioli $11
Pulled pork: pickled fennel, pork rind, mustard dip $10
Lamb barbacoa: jicama, radish, crispy tortilla, chili pepper vinegar $13
Korean beef: kimchi, crispy shallot, pear ginger vinaigrette $12
Fried oysters: lettuce, tomato, Old Bay mayonnaise $13
Grilled falafel: chopped salad, charred tomato vinaigrette $10
