Booze News: Rhino and Emmanuelle

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2012, 1:14 PM

Curious about Ralph Stollenwerk's new venture? Rhino Bar (1234 Locust St.) is hosting a grand opening bash this evening from 6 to 9 p.m. with super cheap drinks and a half everything on the menu. Cans are going for $2, drafts are pouring for $3 and cocktails are $4. We're psyched to check out Stollenwerk's tweaked bar menu that includes confit chicken drumettes with buffalo sauce and Jasper Hill blue cheese sauce, tempura cauliflower with sambal mayo and a smoked salmon rueben.

Up at the Piazza Emmanuelle, a French-themed bar from Tommy Up is opening up shop tomorrow. Named for the Vaseline-lens series of French erotica films, two of Philadelphia's loveliest bartenders, Katie Loeb and Phoebe Esmon are going to mixing up cocktails both Champagne-based and boozier and pouring a selection of Franco-centric aperitifs, wines and beers. Head over to Drink Philly for more info about Loeb's cocktail program which includes Sex á la Plage.
