Celebrate IPA Day

POSTED: Thursday, August 2, 2012, 2:30 PM

We're not claiming that there needs to be a holiday in order to enjoy the hoppy goodness that is American IPA, but since someone out there officially named August 2nd Imperial Pale Ale Day, here's a round up of some of the more exciting IPAs pouring around town.

Over in City Tap House (3925 Walnut St.) in West Philly they've got Brew Works Hop'solutely on draft with Cascade, Chinook, Amarillo, Summit and Tomohawk hops.

Beer nerd collabo-fav Mikkeller teamed up with Brew Dog for I Hardcore You, an intensely dry hopped 9.5% on tap at Farmer's Cabinet (1113 Walnut St.)

Green Flash doesn't mess around when it comes to IPAs and their Palate Wrecker, available at Misconduct (1511 Locust St.) is a monster of an IPA.

There's nothing subtle about Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp, name included. This tri-hopped Belgian on offer at The Prohibition Taproom (501 N. 13th St.)

Avery Maharaja, an IPA with deranged amounts of hops is representing at Hawthorns Cafe(738 South 11th St.)
