DJ nights kick off at Alla Spina with Philly legend Schoolly D

File this under unlikely but totally awesome: Tomorrow night Alla Spina (1410 Mt. Vernon St.) will be kicking off the first of series of DJ nights. The graffiti'd Italian gastropub is hosting 80s era proto gangta rapper Schoolly D. It's not often that you have a chance to see the dude who inaugurated the trend of shouting out neighborhood gangs spinning Southern soul and truschooll in the confines of a Marc Vetri joint.

If Schoolly wasn't draw enough, there's also a pretty bangin' list of late night happy hour specials available from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. including $3.50 craft cans, $7 draft negronis, $1.50 oysters, and $6 mortadella dogs.
