Delicatessen closes
Center City's modern Jewish deli Delicatessen (703 Chestnut St.), which opened about two years back, closed up shop for good yesterday, reports owner Michael Spector. A true bummer for anyone who was a fan of their pastrami and corned beef and bubby-fied second floor, to say nothing of chef Ali Waks' many creative diversions (heart you, pumpkin kugel). No word at the moment of the crew's next move or who might be moving into the Seventh-and-Chestnut space next, but we'll keep you posted.
