Even more bacon for your Super Bowl party

Look, you know as well as we do that there's no shortage of baconcentric recipes in heavy rotation come Super Bowl weekend. Everywhere you look, someone's suggesting you serve bacon-wrapped poppers or deep fried bacon or hell, maybe just feature a bacon-fat-wrestling pit at your party this year.

(Full first-person disclosure: I've actually decided to embrace the insufferable challenge of putting out a mostly-healthy vegetarian spread this weekend, so I'll understand if you just want to write off everything I say from here on out.)

But hey, far be it from us to deny rich cultural traditions or people sending us free recipes that sound tasty. So here you go: three recipes from the folks at Open Air Publishing, who have put out an ebook (available only for iPad and iPhone, boo) called the Better Bacon Book. Click through for the recipes.

First up, bacon cheeseburger meatballs, from Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow of NYC's The Meatball Shop. Meatballs are good football party food because they're eminently toothpickable and can be readily transformed into sliders if you like and holy shit, there are three Meatball Shops now?

Easier yet are smoked bacon deviled eggs, via Ashley Christensen of Poole's in Raleigh. Deviled eggs are a no-brainer and these contain pickled okra, which we can totally get behind.

Are you the sort of person who makes your own ice cream for parties? If so, can we come to your house this weekend? And could you make this malted bacon ice cream (courtesy of Jared Wentworth at Longman and Eagle in Chicago)? Thanks everso; you're an amazing human being.
