Free beer alert! Yuengling is buying the city a round tonight

POSTED: Friday, September 28, 2012, 5:11 PM

The work week is winding down and our thoughts are drifting into happy hour territory. If you were on the fence about hitting the bar after work we're pleased to announce that tonight at 6:30 the generous people of Yuengling are planning a city-wide lager toast. So what does that mean to you? FREE BEER! And pretty much every bar in town is getting in on the action.

Why buy the whole city a round of lager? Not that free beer needs a whole lot of explanation but there are a few reasons why the brewery is buying you a beer. First off its National Drink Beer Day and secondly, Yuengling is celebrating its title of largest American owned brewery. And if you're interested in making this toast particularly memorable, Wendy Yuengling, daughter of fifth-generation brewer Dick Yuengling will be at McGillin's Olde Ale House (1310 Drury St.) drinking her namesake beer.
