George Sabatino's Final Night tasting menu at Stateside and a new head chef

POSTED: Monday, March 11, 2013, 12:58 PM

Well folks, George Sabatino has certainly had a good run at Stateside (1536 E. Passyunk Ave.) but tonight is his last night in the kitchen. To commemorate the end of an era Sabatino has put together a tasting menu that really showcases the what the Stateside crew excels at i.e. pretty much everything.

This is your last chance to get a taste of Sabatino's cooking, at least for a little while so head over to Stateside tonight and go for the Final Night Tasting Menu. Lightly cured sea scallop with mussel and clam escabeche, chili oil, blood orange and fennel? Yeah, we'll be there. The tasting is running $35 or the omnivore menu and $30 for the vegetarian option.

In other Stateside news, 24-year-old Elijah Milligan has been tapped to take over the exec chef spot. Although he might be young he's clocked in plenty of time in some of the city's finest kitchens including Le Bec, Bar Ferdinand and Vernick.
