Hawk Krall rounds up Philly Christmas dogs

POSTED: Monday, December 17, 2012, 2:14 PM

Intrepid encased meats detective Hawk Krall is reporting on holiday-themed hot dogs over on Serious Eats and he's included one particularly good looking local pick. The hot dog innovators over at Hot Diggity (630 South St.) have gotten perhaps a little too deep into the holiday spirit with a Rudolph dog made with Alaskan reindeer topped with rosemary sauerkraut, bacon, beet sticks, rum-butter roasted pears, roasted red pepper relish and a shower of almond snow.

If you have plans to travel to the Windy City in the next few weeks it worth a mention that Hot Doug's is serving a totally wild Christmas dog made with cognac-spiked lamb and pork sausage finished off with double creme brie and a mint mustard cream.
