- Adam Erace dives in at Loco Pez, the recently redone Fishtown cantina from the owners of Center City's Alfa. The beast-mode three-meat "Nachos de Kenzo" (above) are just one of many options where the cheap (but not cheaply made) food is concerned.

- We all know Serious Eats the site, but now the online food hub has branched out into print with a colorful paean to eating the best stuff America has to offer.

- In Feeding Frenzy: Il Pittore, Sbraga and tidbits on a buncha new stuff.

- In What's Cooking: hoagies, chocolate, affordable meat feasts and artisanal beer cocktails.
