IN PRINT: City Paper's Spring Food Issue, March 17

We're obviously children of Generation Blog here at Meal Ticket, but you absolutely MUST pick up our brand-new spring food issue IN PRINT in addition to perusing it on the web — it's one beautiful book, thanks to the hard work of CP's Reseca Peskin, Allie Rossignol, Alyssa Grenning and Neal Santos, not to mention illustrator Joel Kimmel, who did both the outside and inside covers. Cop yours immediately!

Here's a rundown of what we've got for you inside.

- Team Meal Ticket members form like Voltron to provide you with a litany of warm-weather ideas and activities, from Cypriot barbecuing at Kanella and time-warp drive-in snackage at Weber's to unpopular picnicking areas and fast-approaching chef collabs. Best when used alongside Google Calendar.

- There's good food under our feet — do you know how to find it? Felicia D. talks to three local foragers to get advice on how to take advantage of delicious, nutritious — and free! — urban flora.

- CP food critic Adam Erace is also a bit of a wanderer — we took advantage of his peripatetic nature by making him round up seven distinctive destinations for your spring day-trip pleasure. Some are close by (the Shofuso tea house in Fairmount Park) while others are a hearty haul (let's go shad-fishin' at Smithfield Beach!).

- Philadelphia Distilling, makers of Bluecoat Gin, Penn 1681 Rye Vodka and Vieux Carré Absinthe, are about to release their fourth spirit — Shine, an 88.8-proof white whiskey, aka moonshine. Get the backstory here.

- If Tyson Wong Ophaso is anything, he's resilient — the Laos-born chef has had his share of ups and down, but he's hit on something good with his Asian/Latin/awesome food truck Tyson Bees.

- Feeding Frenzy has got deets on lots of new spring projects — Mica, Cake and the Beanstalk, Federal Donuts, Pure Fare  and more.

- Laurel Rose Purdy is a food event-gathering beast! In What's Cooking she has all the info on the week in eats.
