It's time we talked about Valentine's Day. (Part 7)

Our numbering may be off, but the important thing is, we've got good news for the anti-romance crowd.

It's time we talked about Valentine's Day. (Part 7)

POSTED: Monday, February 11, 2013, 12:34 PM

Romance is all well and good for some, but if you can't be bothered or just aren't quite in the mood for it this year, here's one option: creep around town with a bunch of strangers and get utterly, jubilantly shit-faced. (But, please, remember to get responsibly shit-faced.)

On Thu., Feb. 14, while countless couples are elbowing their way through the dining masses for the chance to look at each other all googly-eyed across a table laden with heart-shaped foodstuffs, you will be ponying up $5 for a lei that will grant you access to drink specials at eight bars around Fairmount on an Anti-Valentine's Day Pub Crawl. (Start at either St. Stephen's Green or London Grill; the crawl begins at 7 and wraps up "at midnight," though we all know the pub crawl really isn't over until someone does something truly disgusting or passes out at the bar.)

Over the course of the night, you'll make stops at London Grill, St. Stephen's Green, The Bishop's Collar, Brown Street Pub, Urban Saloon, Belgian Cafe, The Green Room, and Bridgid's for $4-5-6 specials on beer, wine, and cocktails. And hey, maybe you'll meet someone nice to get temporarily romantical with after all! (Proceeds from the crawl will go to benefit Project H.O.M.E., so you can feel good about yourself no matter what.)
