Local Goods: Meet the Maker Dinner at JG Domestic

POSTED: Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 12:35 PM

On September 13, Jose Garces' JG Domestic (2929 Arch St.) is hosting a sweet send off to summer in conjunction with Bucks County's Luna Farms. The 10 acre farm provides much of the produce for the Garces Group's Philadelphia and Atlantic City restaurants. For $65 you'll get a taste of all of the usual end of summer suspects (think tomatoes, melons, squash) worked into a menu designed by Garces and Luna farm manager Alex McCracken.

If you can't make it out next Thursday you can get your hands on Luna Farms' late summer offerings on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the JG Domestic Farm Cart where there's loads of local produce, pies and promises of cider come fall.

Luna Melons with bourbon-maple vinaigrette, cilantro and smoked pecans

Fried Green Tomatoes with roasted shrimp and tarragon-caper aioli

Wood Oven-Roasted half Jidori Chicken with opal basil chimichurri

Cherry Wood-Smoked Sockeye Salmon with roasted sweet pepper remoulade

Roasted Summer Squash with eggplant, lavender, savory, pickled shallots and tomato fondue

Cobbler with pineapple tomatillo, ricotta sherbet, smoked pecans, opal basil and saba
