New home for POPPED! Food Bazaar

Yesterday Critical Mass filled you in on the last-minute venue change for the highly anticipated POPPED! Music Festival — due to heavy precipitation in the forecast, the two-day show has been moved from outdoors at FDR Park to the Liacouras Center at Temple University. (Official details here.) This seemed to jeopardize the all-local Food Bazaar Meal Ticket has been telling you about (we helped curate participants), since there's simply no adequate place to fit all those trucks and vendors along that swath of North Broad, to say nothing of the permitting morass.
Good news, though: POPPED! organizers have secured a home for an abbreviated but still delicious-sounding version of the Bazaar. Tomorrow, visit NoLibs' Piazza at Schmidts between 3 and 9 p.m. to grub on a lineup that includes Vendy Awards winners Sweetbox and Gigi & Big R, plus Hardena, Made in the Shade lemonade, King of Rock and Roll Treats soft-serve and the excellent Nomad Pizza. (The soon-to-be Philly restaurateurs initially prepped 2,000 dough balls for the event, so trust that they'll be ready for volume.) Unfortunately, those hungry for a taste of ?uestlove's fried chicken will have to wait — the nascent food brand from the Roots drummer, which debuted at the recent Feastival, will not be in attendance Saturday, though Questo and crew will be appearing at Cook (253 S. 20th St.) on Sunday night.
Honestly, this seems like just a godawful idea. Further proof that ?uestlove is a genius: he's the only one with sense enough to pull out of this. Who is going to show up for this? tsarstruck
The Piazza is going to be great! alethiac
I would guess plenty of people will still show up -- they just won't be the same people who go to Popped! since they're so far away from each other. I wanted to eat a cupcake WHILE watching Mates of State, dammit. Sucks about the rain but this scenario is better than drowning in FDR Park. CarolynH
