Order online: FreshDirect is delivering to Philly

POSTED: Thursday, September 27, 2012, 4:59 PM

While there are some folks who relish strolling the aisles of the supermarket, grocery shopping is not everyone's preferred pass time. For those who would prefer not to while away time in the check out line, FreshDirect is coming to help with all of your grocery needs.

This New York based home delivery service allows you to shop through their website, choose all of your groceries and delivers them to your doorstep or your fourth floor walk up for a negligible fee. Car-less city dwellers thrive on this kind of stuff in NYC where having to decide between a can of beans or a carton of orange juice matters 'cause you're walking everything home.

Beginning on Monday, October 1st, FreshDirect will be delivering to eight zip codes around town with Whole Food-sy offerings like Fage Greek yogurt, Lancaster county milk along with locally raised and butchered meats and produce. Taking the human interaction out of the shopping equation is a little weird, but you can't really argue with the convenience factor.
