Pi Day Action

POSTED: Wednesday, March 13, 2013, 2:40 PM

Math isn't generally something that inspires hunger around these parts (aside, of course from measuring cups and spoons that we break out for baking projects) but Pi Day is a whole other story. Tomorrow, March 14th is that day. In honor of the mathematical constant a few places around town are running specials on their circular offerings.

Pizzeria DiMeo's (8500 Henry Ave.) is discounting their signature wood-fired Neapolitan Margherita from $13 to $4, a Pi Day miracle considering that the pie is made with San Marzanos, mozzarella di bufala and Italian bottled water for the dough. BYO and get over there tomorrow. Pies start baking at 11 a.m. and go until the dough sells out.

Over at Supper (926 South St.) they're running a two-pie tasting menu for $19. Choose one savory and one sweet from a selection that includes Quebecoise tourtiere, a short rib and mushroom pie, Dutch apple and Mississippi mud.
