Rubb BBQ rides again

Rubb BBQ (4445 Main St.), the meat smoker that at one time had Adsum chef Matt Levin's name attached, has yet to make a brick-and-mortar debut in Manayunk, but the team at Belvedere Restaurant Group (Agiato, Main Street Market, Terrace Taproom) recently rolled out a mobile Rubb rig to accommodate the Yunkers' demand for 'cue. The rig, which made its debut last weekend at the Manayunk Arts Festival, will hawk its wares (Bell & Evans whole chickens, Leidy's ribs by the half and full rack, angus beef brisket) outside Main Street Market (4345 Main St.) every Saturday and Sunday from here on out. Rubb is also accepting barbecue catering orders for the Fourth of July; call 215-482-9500 for the hookup. Belvedere's Rob Nydick tells Meal Ticket that he and his partners still plan on opening Rubb as a restaurant, but are still working on zoning issues with the neighborhood.

UPDATE: Here's a pic of the Rubb rig ...

I was going to try the rig out at the Arts Fest, but they wanted $10 for a puny brisket sandwich with no sides- maybe lower the prices, especially if there's no rent yet.
