Shark Week Specials!

POSTED: Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 1:16 PM

Cue up the Jaws theme music and get ready Shark Week 2012. We've got a quick round up of shark-themed events around town, so get your (drinking) goggles ready.

Shark Week will be on screen all day at the Artful Dodger (400 S. 2nd St.), along with plenty of drink and food specials. Pop open $3.50 Narragansett, Fosters and LandShark bottles and cans and snack on $5 quesadillas and wings while watching one of their 9 p.m. screenings of Jaws from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Mill Creek Tavern's (4200 Chester Ave.) Sharkpocalypse kicked off yesterday with Karaoke and will run until Sunday August 19th. Events rotate every night, but you can count on loads of drink specials no matter what's going on.

But don't let these specials stop you from enjoying Shark Week from the comfort of your own home. Grab some (or a lot of) beers, invite your friends and play this Shark Week Drinking Game, courtesy thedrinknation.com.

Here are the rules:

1. Drink every time – and for the full duration of time – someone's credentials are cited.

2. Drink every time someone says, “this species of shark is normally very peaceful.”

3. Drink every time a different species of shark appears on-screen.

4. Drink every time you think to yourself, “I hope this yuppie just gets mauled.”

5. Drink every time some yuppie just gets mauled.

6. Drink every time the host says something completely unfunny and you think to yourself “I hope this yuppie just gets mauled.”

7. Drink every time shark attack odds are given.

8. Drink every time a shark eats and/or attacks something/someone.

9. Drink every time a shark's dorsal fin protrudes from the water.

10. Drink for the duration of every slow-motion clip.

11. Drink every time you see a shark...
