Shmitten Kitten gets its own beer

Shmitten Kitten, Anna Goldfarb's dating blog for people who hate dating blogs, is one of our absolute faves — it's funny as a mofo thanks to its chortle-inducing content (big fan of the "Bonerkiller" feature) and its regular reliance on animated GIFs of Oprah, to say nothing of the legit value it offers to those guys and girls working the singles circuit. And now Goldfarb's checked a big item off her sasstastic bucket list by brewing her very own beer.

About a month ago, Goldfarb and the SK crew headed out to Sly Fox (she's a friend of Suzy Woods, beer blogger and Sly Fox rep) to crank out a Shmitten Kitten kolsch, the easy-drinking ale native to west-central Germany. "I wanted a light, crisp beer that people would reach for after a night of getting hot dancing on the dance floor," says Goldfarb. "A Kolsch fits that bill perfectly." Sly Fox produced roughly 40 kegs of the stuff, and it'll soon be available on tap at the following bars (lineup subject to change):

P.O.P.E.
Standard Tap
Johnny Brenda's
Khyber
Royal Tavern
Sidecar
City Tap House
Memphis Taproom
700 Club
Abbaye
Tattooed Moms
Cantina Los Caballitos
South Philly Tap Room
Lucky 13
Kraftwork
Monk's

Join Goldfarb and Co. this coming Wednesday, April 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the P.O.P.E. (1501 E. Passyunk Ave.) for a release party for the kolsch.
