Star Chefs Philly
Today Star Chefs dropped their list of 2013 Rising Star Award Winners and the line up is a pretty great mix of touted talent and new comers. On the 'we could have told you that' end of things we've got Joshua Lawler of Farm and Fisherman, Rittenhouse Tavern's Nicholas Elmi, Greg Vernick, and recent three beller Eli Kulp of Fork. Brauhaus's Jeremy Nolen took the prize for concept chef, Kevin Sbraga won the title of community chef and Le Virtu's Joe Cicala got an artisan nod.
Some of the lesser known names to get Star Chef honors this year include Sara May and Davina Soondrum of Franklin Fountain and Shane Confectionary, R2L pastry chef Peter Scarola and JG Domestic chef Yun Fuentes.

The Garces Group is going to be hosting a tasting gala and awards ceremony on Thursday, February 21 at the Kimmel Center. Tickets are going for $90 for general admission or for an extra $25 you can upgrade to VIP status which will get you a stop at the awards ceremony plus a Champagne and caviar reception.
