Sumo Steaks working on two Philly locations

Real estate developer Bill Creagh tells Meal Ticket he's about two months away from opening his first Sumo Steaks location at 2805 N. 22nd Street, right behind the old Connie Mack Stadium grounds. Creagh, who comes from a restaurant family — the Creaghs in the past ran Halfway House in the NEast and Lucky 7 Tavern in Absecon, New Jersey — will serve cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks (on Liscio's rolls), fresh-cut fries and buffalo wings; the Sumo name, Creagh says, is a lighthearted nod to the sumo athlete's practice of packing in massive amounts of food to prepare for competition (slogan: "Train like a Sumo...EAT!").
Creagh, a proponent of social media, encourages folks to follow Sumo Steaks' progress on Twitter and on its blog, where you can provide feedback on the shop's branding (hats, cups, sandwich wrappers, etc.). "We're inviting fans of the idea to follow us along as we create a brand, and an actual fast-food chain," says Creagh. Sumo's second location is slated for the fall on the 1600 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
If you consider Bill Creagh a real estate developer, maybe you should check the definition again. He hasn't developed anything & simply owns dilapidated properties throughout North Philadelphia that remain eye sores to the communities that they've plagued for years! And a 2nd location?!?!? The first one has yet to open. Give us a break... Just another coked out scam artist trying to profit off the impoverished residents of the communities he's planning to setup shop in! Something needs to be developed before you can call yourself a developer. DaBawl
As a business owner in Philadelphia and long time Social Media expert, I am glad to see William Creagh taking the next step into his business ventures. I have seen first hand his hard work and dedication to any project are unmistakable. He's a man of true focus, and strives for perfection. I won't toot his horn for days and say he is is a perfect man, who is? If I had to share a true weakness, it is that he is too passionate at times, and allows that to drive him into self induced anxiety. (Haha).
As someone of a provable honest nature, I can say that I would never be associated, affiliated, or involved professionally with someone of a questionable nature. While I don't know Mr. Creagh's life story, I do know that he has overcome many-a-challenges in real estate, including the real estate collapse and other unfortunate events.
I am proud to call Bill Creagh a colleague and friend, and cannot wait to see his 2 years of hard work pay off with Sumo Steaks. (Have you ever tried to get a restaurant in the city?! It's no easy task!)
Way to go, Billy. Your team is behind you 100%. kcolihan
