Tasty Sausages hits Matyson

POSTED: Monday, February 4, 2013, 2:38 PM

We here at Meal Ticket know we're hardly the only ones who count Tasty Sausages amongst our favorite food blogs and most-trusted review sources (Craig what? Adam who?). So the radio silence from those quarters since November has been a bit of a bummer. (For the uninitiated, the blogmaster, Jett, is in elementary school—meaning he's probably a lot busier than most of us.) But (joy of joys!) Jett returned yesterday to share with us his thoughts on chef Ben Puchowitz's cooking at Matyson (37 S. 19th St.).

The verdict? 33 sausages, "even with all the lobster and mushrooms," two foods Jett's not a huge fan of. He also skipped the snails, but dug the sweetbreads, uni, foie gras, and all of the desserts. The rating of 33 sausages (out of how many? the sausage ceiling remains to be determined, as we understand it) places Matyson above South Philly Tap Room and Nomad, but short of Le Virtù, Will, and Rittenhouse Tavern. One can only imagine, however, how many sausages may have been granted on a less lobster-heavy night.

We insist that you read the full review here, if you haven't yet.
