The Mystery of the Triangle Revealed?

POSTED: Monday, July 30, 2012, 1:30 PM

For the last four months, the C & D Triangle Tavern at S. 10th Street – the once mighty original South Philly tap room known simply as The Triangle – has been up for grabs as a for-sale-spot, a bargain really when you consider the price ($855,000 liquor license included), location (the center point between the Italian Market and the East Passyunk Avenue strip) and the fact that it had four large sized newly renovated apartments as part of the deal.

Weird then that James “Jimmy D’Achino” Deanchano couldn’t unload it. That is until now with a smaller deal on the table. While retaining the apartments and the ownership of the building, word has it that the current owner of the Triangle has reportedly leased the bar-restaurant part of 1338 S. 10th Street to Steve Simons and Dave Frank of Royal Tavern and Cantina fame. (Steve Simons was contacted but has not yet confirmed the takeover).

No word yet on what it is the Simons and Frank shall do at the Triangle. At one point Frank was heard to have been looking for a space to place Farmers Cabinet cocktail expats Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal.
