Ticket Stubs: Meal Ticket Weekly Recap September 17-21

POSTED: Monday, September 24, 2012, 10:00 AM

Monday, September 17

Craig Laban dropped the mega-bomb that Momofuku alum Peter Serpico is already in town and planning to open up his Starr-backed South Street restaurant in December.

Adam Erace caught world that quirky South Philly bruncherie Carman's Country Kitchen is closing up shop due to landlord issues, namely, the landlord wanting to open a pizzeria there.

Tuesday, September 18

We celebrate National Cheeseburger Day with a round up of our favorite burgers around town.

In other celebratory news, Iron Hill brewer Bob Barrar is throwing himself a happy 40 bash at the brew pub's Media location with plenty of Dark Humor, Barrar's sour porter.

Wednesday, September 19

Kevin Sbraga gives us the full line up of his Chef's Counter Dinners for the rest of the year. Breakfast for Dinner and Philly Tailgating sound like a good time.

We get a first look at Mad River replacer Craft & Claw which opened its doors to the public on Thursday night.

Thursday, September 20

In this week's paper we've got Adam Erace on the barbecue-without-boarders offerings at Blue Belly, a guide to Oktoberfest, and behind the scenes at the opening of a Cheesecake Factory.

Kick off Oktoberfest the right way with a five-course collaboration dinner at Brauhaus. Chefs on hand include Scott Schroeder of South Philly Taproom and American Sardine Bar fame, Matyson's Ben Puchowitz and Le Virtu's Joe Cicala.

Friday, September 21

The soon to open Ralic's seafood joint on South Street is getting some seriously tentacled signage.

Craig Laban hoists three bells upon the newly revamped Le Bec.
