Got our hands on a pair of tickets to this weekend's Big Ass Beer Fest, which'll bring together 50+ high-ABV beers (think imperial, think barleywines, think doubletriplequadruple IPAs) this Saturday at Starlight Ballroom (460 N. Ninth St.). You want? All you need to do: Between right now and noon tomorrow, January 17, leave a ONE-SENTENCE COMMENT on this post convincing us why we should give these tix to you. We'll select our fave response and toss the tix — $45 in advance, $55 day-of — your way. Best of luck.

My wife wants to take her older brother who loves beer as a rememberance to there father who passed away a year ago on 1/21 as he was a beer lover and would love to see them together celebrating his life at a beer fest.

This transplant from New York needs those tickets so I can finally prove once and for all - via photographic evidence - to my fellow New Yorkers that their town is NOT a beer town, Philly is indeed, and that they better take heed.

A little late but I figured I'd try anyways:

-I just moved from sunny FL to cold, murderous Killadelphia (20 murders, 15 days) and am in DIRE need of a drunken rampage, as I fear my alcohol tolerance is quickly diminishing (since I don't get to go out every night of the week anymore), and my small internship stipend barely covers my train pass.

I'm a national volunteer with AmeriCorps, and while I like serving my fellow man, I also enjoy drinking beer; incidentally, there is an implicit incongruency because I'm living on "welfare" and unable to afford the beverage I love to drink.
