Whiskey Watch: Lloyd opening tomorrow

POSTED: Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 11:52 AM

Fishtown whiskey aficionados take note, Lloyd is opening tomorrow night at 529 East Girard Avenue. The space, once home to Hot Potato Cafe (a restaurant that even Gordon Ramsay and the Kitchen Nightmares team couldn't revitalize) has been taken over by New York import Scott Coudriet.

Lloyd's moniker is a homage to both Coudriet's father and the creepy bow-tied bartender from The Shining. The decor is modeled after Coudriet's childhood living room where his father enjoyed the Lloyd proto-special: a Hi-Life and a shot of Old Grand Dad.

Also on offer at Lloyd are eight drafts, fifteen bottles, all local, along with a menu of classic and house-created cocktails.
